I cut my teeth as a drummer on this album. I can remember getting home from school as a little 10 year old kid and going to the basement and putting Appetite on and just playing it straight through. It was my daily ritual, before homework, food or saying hello to my folks (who were cool enough to allow such shenanigans at such a young age). It was definitely the first album I could sit and play from start to finish and I learned more about time keeping and being a pocket player from that experience than any metronome could've taught me. Besides, what kid wants to sit with a practice pad and a metronome? I dunno, maybe some but I was definitely not that kid.
I wish he was still hard on drugs and alcohol so he can go out like a boss

He is so underrated, they were a much better band with him in it. Matt Sorum is a much better drummer but this guy has that thing hidden ingredient, it's called soul. It's that same ingredient that Charlie Watts or Ringo has. They had a much better drum sound with this guy.
