Classic intro and line. Lowering your action and using a thinner pick got me closer to a more accurate tone, along with chorus a chorus pedal, etc. More info on description. There's some notes that are out of the proposed harmonic idea, but most of them are passing or contextualized differently, like the natural F on the intro. If we're thinking D Mixoyldian, that note should be F# but it works great, probably as part of the D Blues Scale with the usual ambiguous 3rd placement. This will apply on the whole song with some other aspects. Song is doing some modal interchanges between D Major, D Mixolydian, and modulating finally into E Minor:
D Major (with F#, C#)
I D (D F# A)
II Em (E G B)
III F#m (F# A C#)
IV G (G B D)
V A (A C# E) (used on most parts)
VI Bm (B D F#)
VII C#dim (C# E G)
D Mixolydian (from G Major) (with F#) (intro, verses)
I D (D F# A)
II Em (E G B)
III F#dim (F# A C)
IV G (G B D)
V Am (A C E)
VI Bm (B D F#)
VII C (C E G)
E Natural Minor (relative to G Major) (with F#) (from solo)
I Em (E G B)
II F#dim (F# A C)
III G (G B D)
IV Am (A C E)
V Bm (B D F#) or B7 (B D# F# A) from E Harmonic Minor, stronger dominant
VI C (C E G)
VII D (D F# A)
this is serious bass line, fair play, nailed it!!!
