191Movies.Com likes this movie for so many reasons. You’ve probably watched The Guns Of Navarone more times than you can remember. It’s one of those movies that shows up a lot on television, lately these days on Turner Classic Movies and a few turns on Cinemax. The Guns Of Navarone is a 191 Movie because the sheer level of craftmanship keeps drawing you back time after time. Every scene, especially the one shown here, is a ticking clock. Beautifully photographed and expertly cut, frame after frame. The great cast includes the always-terrific Gregory Peck and Anthony Quinn, not to mention David Niven, Stanley Baker and Irene Papas. I saw this movie in the sixties along with my father and grandfather in a theatre in Calcutta. Recently I saw it again with my daughter and grandson. The magic still lingers!
Added a second onto the usual 15 second ads. I see what you did there.

This is one of those films that if you stumble across it when flicking through the channels you finish up watching the whole thing, even if you've seen it 50 times already.
A bit like Zulu or The Great Escape!
Hot shots part deux brought me here
I never realized that part of Hot Shots, Part Deux, was taken from this movie. Compare this clip (starting at 0:52) with the "Boat Inspection" clip from the former here on YT.

3:06 Explosion first before the Grenade landed.
I saw it in India 54 years ago.Silly movie .If germans are that stupid as depicted in the movie then WW2 would have been over on Sep 1939 with poles occupying Berlin. As a child aged 12 I enjoyed much.
My grandfather also took part in that film as a soldier
